Mission - To promote the idea that small businesses are the lifeblood of our community and that the fastest path to recovery is for consumers and purveyors to patronize our local businesses.

Vision - To have Buy Local Buy Nola become a major resource that local businesses can tap into to meet the challenges of post-Katrina life and to make a positive impact in our community.

Buy Local/Buy NOLA is an organization whose sole purpose is to assess and help to alleviate the needs of small and medium businesses.  

 

One of the first ideas to become a reality is to set up a website where business will be able to post their needs and positions available and where the potential employees will be able to find employment.

 

Hurricane Katrina devastated our entire community.   Parish by parish the storm left in its wake a devastated business community.  From St Tammany to Plaquemines it wasn’t just the homes that were destroyed; it was also the small and medium businesses that were affected.  A large piece of the economic recovery is going to come from the efforts of locally owned and operated businesses.  One small way that the average Greater New Orleans Resident can contribute to the recovery of our region is to, whenever possible, spend their money with these locally owned and operated businesses.    

Buy Local / BUY NOLA is an organization formed to promote unity within our business community so that we can solve some of our problems together rather than waiting for the government to take action. Part of this is to promote the patronage of our locally owned and operated businesses. 

As a contributor to the Buy Local / Buy NOLA organization, your business will be listed on our website. Your listing will be an advertisement for your particular business as well as a testament to your business’ dedication to its community.  By working to preserve these small and medium business we are, in effect, preserving the culture of the communities in which we raise our children.

From Plaquemines to St Tammany to Orleans to Jefferson to St. Bernard, it’s going to take the efforts of its citizens as well as its business community to bring back our home.  It may take brick and mortar to rebuild a house, but it takes people to rebuild a home.
